回收成为主要产业在所有发达国家是为了减少生态破坏和回收有价值的资源,城市垃圾管理策略包含收集可利用的材料像塑料包装袋、废纸、玻璃和电器元件除了家庭垃圾。在工业回收的工序中所有这些材料必须被处理而且被热利用率或者重新利用循环,假设塑料回收,一个高纯度材料需要一个成功的材料整理和加工处理。即使对于热塑料垃圾的使用,比如含氯物质PVC必须被消除在材料中。关于回收的应用,NIR分类技术已经有多年的使用经验,NIR技术可以识别不同的垃圾成分和独特形式的材料颜色。为了每个原料领域的塑料回收,LLA设备有成熟的识别板块,板块可以扩展客户对材料类型的需求,塑料鉴定板块是可用于多元化的NIR光谱仪KUSTA1.9MPL和NIR成像相机KUSTA1.7MSI和KUSTA1.9MSI。
idHwaste模块的应用原理上适用于识别和分选生活垃圾,这个模块可使用NIR光谱仪KUSTA1.9MPL和NIR成像相机KUSTA1.7MSI和KUSTA1.9MSI,idHwaste模块软件可以识别所有的塑料被用于食品包装袋和一些聚合物,甚至塑料复合材料比如有PVC箔标签的PET瓶子被识别。在瓶子与瓶子之间的回收中能够准确的除去PVC(仅需要KUSTA1.9MPL和KUSTA1.9MSI)。机KUSTA1.7MSI和KUSTA1.9MSI成像相机被更广泛的应用于需要高空间分辨率和高帧数率。

idPET-Flakes(PET鳞片)模块的分析软件被用于除杂在瓶堆里回收PET瓶子。另外在所有普遍的生活塑料中,这模块同样可以分析杂质像PA或者硅胶。后者通常出现在瓶子的瓶盖垫片。这个软件模块**选用高帧数率的KUSTA1.9MSI和在高敏感度下识别PET鳞片的特殊PVC杂质。在idPET-Flakes分选后,材料几乎不会含有PVC。
